The Food - Good news for coffee
lovers. So far, they have always
been haunted by a
variety of information about the negative
effects of coffee. Recent research cites two cups of coffee per
day can keep the
heart healthy.
Estimates for one year of diagnosis, up to 40% of those who died of heart failure has a survival rate worse than cancer. Recent studies indicate that regular coffee drinking in moderation can reduce the likelihood of heart problems.
Of the five previous studies, involving nearly 150,000 men and women, showed that those who drank one or two cups of coffee a day, 11% less likely to have heart failure. But according to the journal Circulation: Heart Failure, coffee drinking five cups or more a day, it seems bad for the heart.
Researcher Dr. Murray Mittleman, of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, said "Considering the many things, moderation seems to also be the key here." Researchers are not sure why coffee may reduce the likelihood of heart failure, the heart becomes weak from a heart attack or disease.
Coffee may reduce the likelihood of high blood pressure and diabetes. Both diseases can increase the likelihood of heart failure. "It stands to reason that reducing the risk of a person exposed to one of the disease, will also reduce the risk of heart failure." said Dr.. Mittleman
Other studies also revealed that drinking coffee can help people live longer. Research funded by the U.S. government found that drinking coffee may reduce the likelihood of someone dying because of a number of different diseases. Such as heart disease, respiratory disease, stroke, diabetes and infections.
Apparently some people may inherit genes that make them more dependent on caffeine than others. Usually those with the gene caffeine addict will drink more coffee.
