The Food - Champagne from Ship Wreck Auction Rp 1.4 billion!

The Food - Wine is certainly one so special that someone would buy it at a price of Rp 1.4 billion. Naturally, Champagne has historical value as found in the wreck!

On July 2010, a group of Finnish divers found 168 bottles of Champagne in a wreck near the islands of Aland in the Baltic Sea. It is estimated that wine has been around since 1825.

Of the many bottles of Champagne, just 79 fruits that are still worthy of consumption. Conditions are still very good because the bottles are falling horizontally, under pressure, stored at low temperatures, and are not exposed to sunlight.

Based on the news reported by Bloomberg, some wine was auctioned on Friday (8/6) in Mariehamn, Finland. This auction place not far from the location of the discovery of the wreck.

A total of 11 bottles of Champagne eventually sold for 125.500 euro (equivalent to Rp 1:45 billion). Six of which came from the house wine Juglar, four of Veuve Clicquot, and one of Heidsieck.

Heidsieck wines are first offered successfully sold for 11.500 euros (USD 134 million) a bottle, while the most expensive Veuve Clicquot derived from the 15 thousand euros (USD 175 million) a bottle.

Last year, two bottles of wine, which is Juglar worth 24 thousand euros (USD 280 million) and Veuve Clicquot worth 30 thousand euros (USD 351 million), successfully sold to buyers from Singapore.

Aland government will save some vintage Champagne, while the rest were sold to finance the project nautical archeology and the Baltic Sea environment.
