The Food - In some areas of employment, attractive appearance became one of the mandatory requirement. Nonetheless, the coffee shop in Boston, United States, considered to discriminate against employees for allegedly employing only a beautiful woman.

Marylou's Coffee which already has 29 outlets are known for beautiful young waitress. According to the company that dominated the color pink, the waiters were wearing a uniform shirt or tank top in pink. In each of Marylou's TV ads, they appear as singing or dancing.

Apparently this is considered a form of discrimination by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Last year, the EEOC examined the job application into Marylou's, interviewed the manager of the company, and asked the workers.

Marylou Sandry, the cafe owner, objected to EEOC charges. "Over the past 25 years in operation, we never got a complaint because of discrimination in any form," he said. He suspects the EEOC tried to defame the business.

According Sandry, incoming applications are mostly young women. However, selection is based on the applicant's personality and passion for serving customers. "We only hire people who are most qualified, in accordance with state and federal law," said Sandry.

Sandry agreed that the café's brand colors of pink and lots of young women who work there, but he claimed never to discriminate. He also sent a letter to Robert L. Hedlund, Massachusetts senator, to ask for support.

According to Robert, this investigation does not make sense. "Is it because of Marylou's not going to hire a fat guy wearing a pink shirt and serves coffee? Many other important things that can be taken care of the federal government rather than harassing a legitimate business," said Robert.

Based on one of the workers at Marylou's, this cafe also hired men, but on the maintenance. He also said that not all young. Of the 600 people working, one third are over 40 years.

However, one other staff says otherwise. "It's no secret that Sandry is only willing to hire women with long hair, big breasts, and slim," said Lisa Doran who has long worked at Marylou's, as quoted by FOX 25.

Until now, the EEOC has sent Marylou's seven charges related to the federal government. However, the EEOC declined to comment further.
